About The Position

The Kelsey-Seybold Clinic Hospitalist Program provides specialized, efficient and coordinated care for our hospitalized patients. The per diem hospitalist has the option to take daytime and/or nighttime shifts at any of the four hospitalist pods—Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, Fort Bend, Woodlands and Vintage.

Requirements

• Active Texas medical license.
• Internal Medicine Board Certified or Board Eligible.

Responsibilities

• Rounding and coordinating care of already admitted patients during daytime shifts.
• Admitting responsibilities from the ER in the assigned hospital from 7am to 7pm during some shifts.
• Responding to ER calls and admitting patients in the assigned hospital(s) from 7pm to 7am during nighttime shifts.
• Staying in house for the duration of the nighttime shift.
• Managing all calls regarding admissions to the assigned hospital.
• Efficiently managing patients in the hospital and interacting with specialists to coordinate care.
• Transitioning follow-up care to the daytime hospitalist safely and effectively.
• Participating in hospital committees, initiatives, and KSC Hospital Service/IM Department activities.
