About The Position

Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first As a Per Diem/VSP Pharmacy Technician 2 you will work in an in-person, Patient facing position that supports the efforts of our Retail Clinic Pharmacy. You will obtain new prescriptions and prescription refill information. You will also perform a variety of activities to support administrative, operational, and customer needs. You will anticipate being on your feet, handle multiple tasks to fulfill a medication and answer patients' questions, in person and over the phone. The Per Diem/VSP Pharmacy Technician 2 will report to a Pharmacist Lead. Decisions typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Work within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards. Follow standard policies and refer to resources to support assignments. Strong written and oral communication skills. Use your skills to make an impact

Requirements

  • Must have an active Pharmacy Technician license in the state of South Carolina
  • New Pharmacy Technician graduates invited to apply.
  • Basic working knowledge using MS Office including Outlook, and ability to learn and use variety of platforms such as SharePoint, Teams, etc.
  • Must have a driver's license, with reliable transportation to transport office locations.
  • This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program and will require a TB screening.
  • Must be willing to meet for an in-person interview with leader(s)
  • In this role, you will also be required to: Stand for extended periods Frequently walk Bend, and reach with hands and arms Lift and move up to 25 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one (1) year of Pharmacy Technician experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Certified Immunizer
  • PTCB-Certified
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve, count, and measures drugs.
  • Assist Pharmacist with price-checking and restocking of drugs.
  • Access, input, and retrieve prescription information from computer.
  • Refer physicians' calls and any medical questions to pharmacist.
  • Operate a cash register.
