About The Position

BioMatrix is a nationwide, independently-owned infusion pharmacy with decades of experience supporting patients on specialty medication. In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, the relief staff/per diem pharmacist is responsible for the quality of patient services and a safe and effective pharmacy operation.

Requirements

  • Graduate with a BS or Doctorate of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy required
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in the state noted in posting required
  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
  • Communication Skills
  • Oral Communication - Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; Demonstrates group presentation skills; Participates in meetings.
  • Written Communication - Writes clearly and informatively; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Varies writing style to meet needs; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interpret written information.

  • Minimum of 1-2 years in a retail / hospital pharmacy preferred

Responsibilities

  • Directly monitors the pharmacy technicians to assure the quality of patient services and a safe and effective pharmacy operation.
  • Provides safe, appropriate, cost effective, evidence-based medication therapies to patients according to established BioMatrix policies and procedures, and FDA mandates and manufacturer self-imposed restrictions.
  • Completes the prescription order review and verification process, including the match of the dispensing drug to the order and choice of appropriate patient educational medication materials.
  • Conducts initial and disease-specific phone assessments with new patients and refill assessments with existing patients.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy Board rules and regulations (and other states), and the URAC, The Joint Commission, and ACHC Pharmacy Standards.
  • Participation in membership in professional societies and organizations.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Must have scheduling flexibility and be able to work overtime and on-call coverage.

  • Participates in quality assurance activities and audits as directed.
  • Ability to work independently and handle stress accordingly
  • Ability to manage a diverse work force and work cooperatively with the pharmacy staff

  • Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions and respond quickly to emergency requests
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
  • Ability to assist in meeting the pharmaceutical care needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
  • Become and remain proficient is all programs necessary for execution.
  • Will participate in legal and ethical compliance training each year.
