The Per Diem Pharmacist will have the opportunity to apply your clinical expertise by evaluating and interpreting medication orders, compounding, and dispensing prescriptions in accordance with legal and professional standards. You will play a critical role in identifying, preventing, and resolving medication-related issues to ensure safe, effective, and individualized patient care. Through the application of evidence-based protocols, you will promote clinically sound and cost-effective drug therapy, contributing to improved patient outcomes and advancing the standard of pharmaceutical care. Pharmacy Location: This role will cover shifts at Allegheny Health Network Neighborhood Hospitals in Harmar, McCandless, Hempfield, and Brentwood, serving the Pittsburgh area Schedule: Provides PTO coverage for existing pharmacists. Shifts are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM. About the Facility: AHN Neighborhood Hospitals in Harmar, McCandless, Hempfield, and Brentwood are small-format, fully licensed hospitals created through a partnership between Allegheny Health Network and Emerus, the nation’s leading operator of neighborhood hospitals. These hospitals offer 24/7 emergency care, onsite laboratory and advanced imaging services (including CT and X‑ray), and short-stay inpatient observation units — all designed for quick access and efficient care. They also emphasize patient-centered experiences with short wait times, convenient parking, and a warm, community-focused atmosphere, bringing high-quality, compassionate care closer to home in the Pittsburgh area. Requirements

  • ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree (PharmD preferred)
  • Active Pennsylvania state pharmacist license in good standing

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and interpret medication orders to ensure accuracy and appropriateness
  • Dispense prescriptions in compliance with legal and professional standards
