About The Position

MaineHealth is currently seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Patient Service Representative (PSR) to join our OBGYN department in Portland, Maine on a per diem basis. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to enter the healthcare field— no prior experience is required, and full training will be provided! As a PSR, you'll play a vital front-line role, serving as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. Your work will support the delivery of compassionate, high-quality care by helping coordinate appointments, collect necessary information, and ensure a positive patient experience from check-in to check-out. Facility Hours: Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Per diem shifts will fall within these hours specific hours to be determined.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous office experience with medical office experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients in a welcoming and professional manner
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
• Answer phones, direct calls, and assist with patient inquiries
• Verify patient information and insurance details
• Collect co-pays and manage basic billing transactions
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
