Requirements

• High school diploma required; college courses preferred.
• Prior patient access, registration, insurance benefit, and medical terminology experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and data input skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual in Spanish for Chronic Disease Management Clinic and Rural Health Clinics.
• Kaweah Health approved crisis intervention training within 60 days of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Accurately completes the admission, registration, or pre-registration of patients presenting for services.
• Maintains confidentiality and protects sensitive data at all times.
• Provides patients with written material as required by State and Federal law.
• Obtains appropriate signatures and documents accurately in the Patient Management system for compliance.
• Answers department phones in a timely and professional manner.
• Assists customers with patient access concerns and routes calls appropriately.
• Collects applicable copayments or deductibles and enters them into the patient payment system for a receipt.
• Ensures proper client intake at the front desk and verifies necessary information in the medical record or computer system.
• Schedules appointments following department procedures and responds to routine requests for information.
• Performs standard clerical duties, including sorting mail, answering telephones, and maintaining files.
