About The Position

The Orthopedic Surgery Service at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, proudly joining Northwell, is seeking to add a board-certified per diem Physician Assistant to join its team. This position will be scheduled for 12 hour day coverage with overnight 12 hour call from home and weekend coverage. Vassar Brothers Medical Center is a 365-bed facility that has served New York’s Mid-Hudson Valley since 1887. Overlooking the beautiful Hudson River in the city of Poughkeepsie, NY, Vassar has established centers of excellence in cardiac services, cancer care and women and children’s health services. This is an extraordinary time for the hospital with new ACGME-accredited residency programs. Additionally, a new state-of-the-art patient pavilion which features all private rooms. The Hudson Valley boasts a terrific quality of life. From hiking, biking, and boating, to cafes, art galleries, and local farmers markets, this beautiful suburban location offers endless ways to spend your leisure time. Excellent housing and outstanding schools can be found throughout the region. Requirements

  • The qualified candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • NCCPA certified
  • Possess strong surgical and patient management experience

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with at least one to three years of surgical experience and/or surgical residency trained candidates preferred, but new graduates will be considered as will new nurse practitioners with RNF certification and surgical experience.
