Under the supervision of the Chief Occupational Therapist, this therapist is to evaluate patients both in the inpatient and outpatient settings in accordance with prescriptions provided by a physiatrist. Responsibilities Provides and documents patient care, completes medical documentation for the patient record and maintains daily statistics. Writes discharge notes upon completion of treatment plans as required. Attends team conferences and rounds to report progress to attending physicians. Collaborates with patients, families, social services, etc. to plan home treatment program and/or follow-up care. Recommends purchase of equipment and supplies for patients use as part of OT treatment. Responsible for other duties designated by chief and asst. chief OT. All staff are schedule to provide OT services on designated weekend and holiday coverage as mandated by Mt Sinai department services. Attends in-service training conferences, seminars as part of continuing education requirement. Provide in-services training to new residents, students and entry level Occupational Therapists. Responsible for Rehab Technicians.
