About The Position

St. Paul's School seeks a registered nurse in our health center to work on a per diem schedule. This is an academic-year, non-exempt staff position. We are looking for a nurse with flexibility and a willingness to work all shifts including evenings, nights and weekends. Per diem nurses should plan to work a minimum of 2 shifts per month. Summary: Provide quality nursing care to St. Paul’s School students in an outpatient and inpatient setting. As a Registered Nurse at St. Paul’s School, you’ll play a vital role in delivering exceptional, student-centered care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to support the health and well-being of students through a variety of responsibilities, including: Performing thorough physical assessments and triaging students during the shift. Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team, including our Medical Director, Nurse Practitioner, Nursing Coordinator, and Counselors. Communicating effectively with parents and maintaining detailed documentation in our electronic medical record system. Assisting with pre- and post-operative care, and the implementation of nursing protocols and treatment plans. Administering medications and vaccines, collecting diagnostic specimens, and promoting preventive health through education. Ensuring the safe handling, administration, and storage of all medications. Administrative duties including daily medication reconciliation, scanning, and restocking. Requirements

  • Must have graduated from an accredited nursing program.
  • Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (R.N.) in the state of New Hampshire and have current CPR certification.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • The employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, use hands to finger, handle and feel objects, and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, and taste or smell.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with adolescents or school nursing is a plus.
