About The Position
The Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner demonstrates clinical expertise and leadership skills. The Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner (OH NP) uses advanced skills in evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of employees with diseases and adverse health conditions. The OHS NP plans and manages therapeutic regimens for the acute and chronic health issues that may affect the patient population at any given time. The OH NP provides support and guidance in anticipation of an employees need to communicate or express concern of a health condition. The OH NP is able to provide education on disease processes, and prevention. The OH NP is able to provide psychosocial and emotional sustenance to provide reassurance and continual support for growth and balance. The OH NP is also able to provide wellness initiatives that foster the employees level to one of optimal health. The OH NP is accountable for the care provided, including primary prevention, quality of care, employee satisfaction, efficient use of resources, and ethical behavior. The OH NP has prescriptive authority through the Massachusetts Department of Public Health- Drug Control Program (DPH-DCP) in the Commonwealth of MA. This position's work location is onsite, full-time on campus in Boston.
