Per Diem Music Therapist position providing 1:1 and possible group sessions to sickle cell patients of the MGBCI. This position may work in-patient, out-patient or virtually. May also provide cross coverage in adult oncology or adult psychiatry as determined by program manager. Job Summary Summary Provides music therapy services for assigned patients and families, in accordance with the interdisciplinary plan of care. Essential Functions Develops, implements and evaluates treatment plans. Treats patient to relieve symptoms and provide psychological, psychosocial, physical, and spiritual comfort. Compile all assets for music releases - files, credits, metadata, artwork, etc. Facilitate communication among patients and families. Provides music therapy in-services and training. Maintain professional documentation including session notes, outcome based data, and quarterly reports. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Music Therapy required or Master's Degree Music Therapies preferred
  • Music Therapist, Board Certified [MT-BC] preferred
  • related experience 0-1 year preferred
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong organizational skills, creative energy and vision.
  • Knowledge of relevant music therapy treatment strategies and protocols.
  • Ability to assess patients' conditions and request assistance when necessary.
  • Ability to work independently with only general supervision.
