The MRI Technologist will perform duties related to MRI examinations, including determining individual techniques and protocols for prescribed examinations and positioning patients properly. The technologist will read and interpret physician orders, review and evaluate images to ensure satisfactory quality, and maintain a clean examination room and equipment. Communication with patients is essential, providing reassurance as necessary, and performing identification procedures by verbally confirming with the patient before beginning any procedure. The technologist will register patients, enter orders, and track patients using the Radiology Information System (RIS), while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. A strong customer service orientation and a professional appearance are required, along with maintaining the integrity of the MRI Zones. The technologist must screen all patients before they enter the Magnet room and maintain current knowledge of all special and routine procedures in MRI. Completion of an accredited MRI course is mandatory, and the candidate must be registered with the ARRT.
