About The Position

The Per Diem Medical Assistant MA (I) - Clinical Per Diem position involves providing supportive patient care functions for an assigned clinical area under the supervision of a Physician, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Vocational Nurse. The role ensures the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational, and professional standards. Some duties may be delegated to the Medical Assistant by the supervising physician or RN. The position also includes additional responsibilities for Medical Assistant II/III, such as the administration of injectables and other high-level skill performance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or school.
  • MA I: No experience required with Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant or 1 year of related experience without Certification/Registration.
  • MA II: 5 years of related experience with Certification/Registration or 6 years without.
  • MA III: 8 years of related experience with Certification/Registration or 9 years without.
  • BLS certification through American Heart Association.

Nice To Haves

  • Ambulatory Care experience.
  • Windows based computer skills.
  • EPIC experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supportive patient care functions under supervision.
  • Ensure safety and comfort of patients and families.
  • Complete delegated duties from physicians or RNs.
  • Administer injectables and perform high-level skills (for MA II/III).
