Responsibilities

• Perform medical assisting duties including vital signs, height and weight, EKGs, phlebotomy, and assisting during routine procedures.
• Ensure patient care areas are clean, organized, stocked, and ready for use.
• Escort patients to ancillary service areas such as radiology and lab as needed.
• Perform point of care testing, including lab tests and specimen collection, while implementing quality control standards.
• Monitor, order, and maintain medical equipment and supplies, ensuring cleanliness and expiration compliance.
• Review medication lists in the electronic medical record for licensed practitioners' review.
• Use the electronic medical record system (OMR) to queue prescription renewals and document tasks accurately for billing.
• Prepare schedules, patient charts, and documents for clinical activities according to Medical Center standards.
• Monitor patients and visitors, facilitating timely flow and informing of delays.
• Act as a liaison between patients and practice staff to ensure optimal service delivery.
