Requirements

  • High school degree/GED or equivalent experience
  • Certified Medical Assistant via Washington State Department of Health
  • 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a Primary Care or Urgent Care setting
  • Ability to work within the hours of Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm in the Pacific Time Zone

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Epic as an EMR
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Delivers exceptional customer service and maintains established quality control standards
  • Schedules appointments and/or procedures following established scheduling guidelines
  • Verifies, schedules and updates pertinent patient information across Optum systems according to the standard work documentation in the electronic health record (EPIC)
  • Collects data relevant for processing patient requests from patients directly or other care team members
  • Communicates patient concerns or changes in patient’s health status to physician or registered nurse
  • Assists in the coordination of clerical information necessary to provide patient care i.e. referrals, assisting patients with appointments, assists patients with the arrangement of tests and treatments prescribed by physician or registered nurse
  • Assist with indirect and direct patient care, ensuring smooth work and patient flow within the department
  • Obtains patient histories, medications, immunizations and other data in the Electronic Medical Record
  • Perform other duties as assigned
