About The Position

Under supervision of the Administrative Nurse, guided by policies and procedures of the Ambulatory Services, and in collaboration with the Clinical Nursing Staff, the Infusion Center Hospital Assistant III PD assists in the delivery of care to patients being seen in the Infusion Center. Performs assigned patient care and laboratory procedures in support of the primary and specialty care services provided to patients within the center. Required to adhere to the Telephone and House Standards as adopted by the Medical Center. Knowledgeable about the patient registration systems and the acuity-based appointment scheduling system unique to the Infusion Center. Works as a team member with other Infusion and Cancer Center staff and consistently project a professional, caring and courteous demeanor. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $40.19 - $40.19 (Hourly Rate). Requirements

  • Certification from an approved Medical Assistant program; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • One year’s experience as a Hospital Assistant in a medical practice.
  • Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
  • Current American Heart Association CPR Certification
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both directly and over the phone.
  • Able to meet physical requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with insurance verification, medical record data abstraction, medical assisting, or patient financial services strongly preferred.
  • Degree from accredited medical assisting school.
  • Bi-lingual or multi-lingual capability (Spanish, Cantonese, Russian) strongly preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association CPR Certification
