The role also includes maintaining cleanliness in the work area and performing routine clerical tasks.

Requirements

• ARRT certification in Radiology.
• RTR licensure in Commonwealth Massachusetts.
• Mammography certification is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Maintaining all area specific CEUs for ARRT, DPH according to regulation is required.
• Meeting all requirements of FDA/MQSA including the MQSA CE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides care for the psychological and physical needs of patients undergoing mammographic studies.
• Prepares patients for exams and ensures their comfort and modesty.
• Obtains and examines the requisition for mammography and checks patient identification before procedures.
• Performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment.
• Participates in the transfer of patients if needed and instructs them regarding the procedure.
• Follows all department established policies and procedures.
• Calculates and selects proper technical factors based on patient information.
• Evaluates images to assure they are of diagnostic quality.
