About The Position

IV. A. Responsibilities/Essential Functions: 1.) "Provides superior customer service to internal and external clients, customers, and patients as referenced in the Service Excellence Standards." Performs all the duties of a staff Radiologic Technologist. Attends in-service lectures, seminars relating to Mammography and maintains documentation of specialized training in compliance with state and federal regulations. Participates in the development and evaluation of policies and procedures concerning Mammography. Assists in the orientation of Technologists to Mammography. Monitors daily quality control program specific to Mammography Quality Standards Act, DPH, and ACR guidelines. Performs daily testing on Mammography equipment. Reports problems to Technical Manager and/or Radiology Engineer. Obtains patient's prior Mammograms, records, and reports for comparison. Maintain log of patients undergoing Mammographic procedures, log must include patient's name, date of procedure, description of procedure, and referring physician. Must also maintain a call back post card file to remind patients for follow up care consistent with Radiologist's recommendation. Assists radiologist to perform all interventional Mammographic examinations. Assists Technical Manager to perform yearly merit evaluations for technologists working in Mammography. Performs all necessary functions to provide efficient patient care including clerical and transport duties. Completes all patient tracking functions to ensure proper and accurate billing, report transcription, and film retrieval. B. Responsibilities/Non-Essential Functions: Maintains supplies in exam rooms and storage areas. Duplicates films when requested. V. Reporting Requirements: Reports appropriate information to radiologists and medical staff when requested. Reports exam histories and reports to referring physicians and/or their staff members. Must report changes to Mammography practices to the Department of Public Health Radiation Control Program. VI. Accountability: Maintains good communications with patients, referring physicians, nursing staff, and other Radiology clients. Responsible for the quality of images produces and submitted to the Radiologists for interpretation. VII. Qualifications: Minimum Education: Successful completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program. Minimum Experience: In depth knowledge of Mammography imaging procedures at a level gained through 3-5 years of experience as a Mammographic Technologist. Minimum skills/abilities: Work requires vast knowledge of Radiographic and Mammographic procedures and equipment operation. Must have excellent communication skills to lead other to work effectively with physicians and other health care workers. Certification/Licensure: Certification as a Mammographic Technologist. Valid Massachusetts license in Radiologic Technology, Mammography and ARRT certification. Training: Special Qualifications: Must have and maintain BLS certification or obtain certification within three (3) months of hire date. Compensation Range: $49.82- $74.03 This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications.
