  • Safely performs general, routine maintenance and servicing operations throughout the hospital plant as directed.
  • Performs minor plumbing, electrical or mechanical repairs as needed.
  • Reports to the Facility Services Supervisor and Director of Facility Services.
  • Demonstrates the skill in maintaining and repair of the physical plant.
  • Assists in operating and maintaining all equipment, such as boilers, chillers and air handlers.
  • Performs general maintenance work to ensure the correct operation of all building systems with only minor assistance from skilled engineers or management.
  • Non-violent crisis intervention/verbal de-escalation course within 3 months of hire.
  • Trade certification or degree preferred. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Three years experience working with hand tools, painting, general plumbing, or any other healthcare related trade, preferred.
  • Hospital Mandatory Education Requirements: Orientation, OSHA, EOC, Infection Control, Abuse/ Neglect, and Ethics. Tuberculosis Screening, MAB.
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
