About The Position

The Per-Diem Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality nursing care on an as-needed basis across various healthcare settings within the United States. This position is designed to provide flexible nursing support to meet fluctuating patient care demands, ensuring continuity and excellence in clinical services. The LPN will collaborate closely with registered nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to implement patient care plans, administer medications, and monitor patient progress. By maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to established protocols, the Per-Diem LPN contributes to patient safety and positive health outcomes. This role requires adaptability, strong clinical skills, and a commitment to compassionate patient-centered care in a dynamic work environment.

Requirements

  • Current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice within the United States.
  • Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in acute care, long-term care, or outpatient services.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to varying schedules and patient care environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a per-diem or flexible nursing role.
  • Additional certifications such as IV therapy, wound care, or medication administration.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.
  • Previous experience in specialized areas such as geriatrics, pediatrics, or rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients by administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with daily living activities as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement and update individualized patient care plans.
  • Document patient information accurately and timely in electronic health records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
  • Respond promptly to patient needs and communicate any changes in patient condition to the supervising nurse or physician.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
