Phlebotomist/Registration: Working in a single assigned work area, provides specimen collection, registration and processing services to patients in the main hospital, outpatient lab draw stations, and mental health and skilled nursing facilities at off-site locations and clinics. High volume work, 50% of duties involve computer utilization with targets to meet. Provides clerical support to the Pathology Department and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Valid Michigan driver's license.
• ASCP certification for Phlebotomy (must obtain certification within one year of hire) preferred.
• Six months Phlebotomy experience STRONGLY desired, including experience from school.
• Must be able to type 40 words per minute.

Responsibilities

• Provide specimen collection, registration and processing services to patients.
• Work in the main hospital, outpatient lab draw stations, and off-site locations.
• Perform high volume work with 50% of duties involving computer utilization.
• Provide clerical support to the Pathology Department.
• Travel to different locations as needed for specimen collection.
