About The Position

The Housekeeper is responsible for providing clean, sanitary, comfortable and orderly surroundings for the residents and visitors of Luther Ridge, a residential community for older adults located in Middletown, CT. Our facility sits on a quiet wooded campus in the center of Connecticut, in Middlesex County. Requirements

• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to work independently and use good judgement.
• Must follow the facilities and the organizations policies and procedures.
• Previous experience as a housekeeper or custodian preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining a sanitary and attractive environment in specific assigned areas.
• Cleans resident apartments according to cleaning schedule including washing and vacuuming floors and cleaning bathrooms.
• Cleans all areas of facility as assigned including common areas and common area restrooms, TV/media rooms and offices.
• Responds to unplanned or emergency cleaning situations as needed.
• Reports any needed repairs immediately to supervisor.
• Maintains storage rooms in an organized fashion; maintains housekeeping carts and restocks for the following day.
• Adheres to established safety procedures.
• Assists staff and residents in emergency situations.
