The Health Educator- Rooted Relatives will provide hands-on and classroom-based gardening education to youth, families, and community members in school and community settings. The position includes planning, implementing, and evaluating culturally relevant programs that support environmental stewardship, food sovereignty, nutrition, and self-sufficiency through gardening and land-based education. As part of the Rooted Relatives project, this role contributes to increasing access to and consumption of healthy, traditional foods among American Indian/Alaskan Native youth, families, and their peers. This is a per diem position with possible on-call status. The candidate should have the ability to work a flexible schedule in accordance with departmental and operational needs. This position is funded by a Grant. Must be able to work with the Indian community and be sensitive to the Indian culture and its needs.
