About The Position

The Per Diem Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center is responsible for providing emergency and non-emergency medical care and transportation for patients. This role involves responding to medical requests, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining equipment readiness, all while adhering to established protocols and regulations. The EMT will work primarily in a hospital environment but may also operate in pre-hospital settings as needed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Current MA Basic EMT Certification.
• Current AHA BLS Certification.
• Holds current MA driver's License.
• Experience with computer systems, including Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Responds promptly to non-emergent and emergency calls as directed by the dispatcher.
• Maintains knowledge of area geography and traffic patterns.
• Follows Massachusetts laws regarding emergency vehicle operation.
• Completes documentation and records according to department policy.
• Ensures vehicle and equipment are ready for response at all times.
• Renders pre-hospital care at EMT-B level and performs BLS patient assessments.
• Maintains a good working relationship with fellow employees and emergency service providers.
• Participates in continued learning and utilizes new technology and procedures.
