About The Position

BerryDunn is seeking a Per Diem Coding & OASIS Reviewer to join our Healthcare group. This position is responsible for accurate review of clinical documentation, assigning of ICD-10 codes based on coding guidelines, and review of OASIS assessment items for correct responses. Ongoing education and consulting with the client are essential to the success of this review process. This is a remote position requiring the Reviewer to work independently. Our Healthcare/Not-for-Profit Practice Group is our largest industry sector. Our Home Health and Hospice Practice Area consists of over fifty professionals providing services to Home Health and Hospice providers throughout the country. In addition to coding and OASIS consulting services, our Home Health and Hospice team services include compliance services, interim management, and operational and revenue cycle consulting services. Travel Expectations: There is no travel expecation for this position.

Requirements

• Excellent communication and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage self remotely.
• Minimum of 5 years recent Home Health coding and OASIS operational and/or quality experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, compliance guidelines are required.
• Certification in Home Health Coding required
• Certification in Oasis required

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurately review patient charts, including home health coding and OASIS review, discharges and transfers, and hospice coding.
• Communicate directly with the client, including management and field staff, educate on trends found in the review process as it pertains to coding and OASIS guideline and conventions.
• Maintain ongoing communication with clients to ensure satisfaction, including participation in weekly/monthly client meetings.
• Stay up to date on the most recent ICD-10 coding and OASIS guidelines and conventions.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge, including required coding and OASIS certifications and continuing education credits by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
• Other duties as assigned.
