The position is for a part-time Midwife in the OB/GYN department, specifically within the AMG AUWMG Midwifery team. The role is per diem, meaning hours may vary, and it is not benefits eligible. The pay range for this position is between $53.80 and $80.70 per hour. The midwife will have clinical responsibilities that include assessing, diagnosing, and managing treatment plans for patients, as well as providing health promotion and disease management education. The midwife will work as part of an interdisciplinary team and is expected to maintain accurate documentation and facilitate coordinated care among healthcare team members. Other responsibilities include participating in quality and safety initiatives, onboarding new team members, and maintaining productivity and quality metrics.

  • Assess, diagnose, and determine treatment and management plans appropriate for patients.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies and prescribe interventions.
  • Manage conditions based on clinical indications and evidence-based care.
  • Provide health promotion, disease prevention, and disease management counseling.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and seek consultations as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in quality, safety, and peer review initiatives.
  • Facilitate consistent care and communication among healthcare team members.
  • Perform office or hospital procedures in accordance with specialty practice.
  • Participate in the education and onboarding of new team members.
  • Active RN and APRN/APRN-FPA/APNP license as required in state(s) of practice.
  • If practicing in Wisconsin, a WI Certified Nurse Midwife license is required.
  • Active national board certification as Certified Nurse Midwife.
  • Active DEA registration prior to hire.
  • If practicing in Illinois, an active Illinois Controlled Substance License is required.
  • Active BLS and/or ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by clinical practice prior to or within 6 months of hire.
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing.
  • No prior experience required.
  • Demonstrated high level of clinical proficiency.
  • Excellent decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records.

  • Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
