About The Position

The Per Diem Bookseller and/or Guest Services Staff at The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art plays a vital role in supporting the museum's mission to inspire a love of art and reading through picture books. This position involves welcoming guests, assisting with sales and customer service, and ensuring a positive experience for visitors in various areas of the museum, including the Bookshop, galleries, and Art Studio.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests at the admissions desk and throughout the museum.
• Assist customers in the Bookshop with book, art supply, and toy selections.
• Process admissions, memberships, and merchandise sales transactions at the cash registers.
• Provide gallery security and staff the Art Studio.
• Operate AV equipment for film screenings or events.
• Shelve, arrange, clean, and organize products in the store and books in the Reading Library.
• Assist with shop marketing initiatives, promotions, preorders, book signings, and special events.
