About The Position

The Per Diem Athletic Trainer at JAG Physical Therapy provides athletic training services and administrative support to clients, focusing on coordinating medical care for athletes, documenting treatment, and collaborating with healthcare professionals. This role requires adherence to state licensure and professional standards while delivering care in various athletic settings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE approved program.
• Completion of BOC certification and maintenance of 50 CEUs per certification period.
• State licensure as an Athletic Trainer in New York.
• Current BLS certification.
• Personal Liability Insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide athletic training services for athletic events and competitions.
• Coordinate, manage, and implement medical and risk management for athletes, including preventative and emergency care.
• Document injuries, illnesses, treatments, and rehabilitation in compliance with JAG policies and state standards.
• Utilize effective communication skills to involve athletes and families in care plans while adhering to HIPAA/FERPA guidelines.
• Collaborate with other JAG professionals, such as Physical Therapists, and refer for services when necessary.
• Regularly communicate with the supervising physician regarding standard operating procedures.
