About The Position

The Per Diem Anesthesia Technician at UCI Health plays a crucial role in assisting anesthesiologists during various procedures, including the placement of patient monitoring lines and intubations. This position is responsible for maintaining anesthesia supplies and equipment, ensuring they are well-stocked, clean, and functioning properly. The technician collaborates closely with the anesthesia team, OR Manager, and Biomedical engineering to uphold high standards of care in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated experience in a Level I Trauma Center or fast-paced OR environment.
• Basic mathematical skills for calculations.
• Availability to rotate shifts, take call, and work weekends.
• Ability to speak, read, and follow directions in English.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of medical computer software systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist anesthesiologists with the placement of patient monitoring lines and intubations.
• Maintain, order, and stock anesthesia supplies and equipment.
• Perform first line equipment maintenance, calibrations, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure all equipment and supplies are within required expiration dates and well maintained.
• Work closely with Anesthesia, the OR Manager, and Biomedical engineering.
