About The Position

The Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School is seeking one (1) per-diem faculty position at the Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor level to provide clinical services at University Hospital in the division of Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. The candidate must be Board certified in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology with previous clinical experience in surgical pathology and cytopathology. The division is responsible for performance of surgical pathology laboratory services at University Hospital - the school's 519 bed tertiary care core teaching hospital. The successful candidate will be a member of the Anatomic and Clinical Pathology team, consulting with clinical staff, as well as an actively participant in the educational programs of the Department including teaching medical students and residents.

Requirements

  • An MD, DO, or MBBS is required
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology or Anatomic Pathology
  • Active medical license for the state of New Jersey

Responsibilities

  • Provide diagnostic pathology services at University Hospital
  • Collaborate with institutional leadership, physician partners, and nursing colleagues to ensure high quality care for patients in all settings
  • Work collaboratively with the existing academic, administrative and clinical staff within the Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine at New Jersey Medical School.
  • Document and bill for provider activities accurately, appropriately, and in a timely manner according to hospital and medical school policies.
  • Provide active participation in the teaching programs and attend conferences and grand rounds.
  • Promote the program throughout the region and at national conferences.
  • Participate in process/quality improvement in care delivery of patients and participate in quality initiatives of the Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine.
  • Comply with all medical school and hospital medical staff bylaws.
