About The Position

Come apply your Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) education and join the Planet & People team at New England Seafood International during summer 2026! Working with our teams, you will gain experience in the various functions of a CSR department including sustainable sourcing, sustainable fishing practices, corporate social responsibility within our supply chains and organizational impact on the environment, including environmental impact reduction strategies. This immersive experience is designed to give you hands-on practice applying your education to the real world. CSR is a very diverse field and the purpose of this internship is to provide you with multiple opportunities in this area so that you can see what sparks your interest. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to complete a special project of your choice during your internship which you will agree with your line manager during your first week in NESI. This is an opportunity to use everything you have learned in school and put your skills into practice over the summer through this international internship program. This internship will provide the successful applicant an opportunity to spend time in a fast-paced manufacturing business based out of London, UK. This program will focus on developing you and your leadership skills, as well as supporting you to expand your business knowledge at an international level. Travel and accommodation will be arranged on your behalf.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary institution or recently graduated
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to both collaborate with a team and work independently
  • Sealaska shareholder or descendant of a shareholder
  • Must be 18 years old at time of hire
  • Must be currently enrolled in post-secondary school/program or a recent graduate (1-2 years)
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in environmental sustainability or CSR
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • At least a 2.5 GPA
  • Self-starter with ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Planet & People team in implementing corporate social responsibility strategies across NESI’s operations and supply chain.
  • Contribute to projects focused on sustainable seafood sourcing and responsible fishing practices.
  • Participate in initiatives aimed at reducing the organization’s environmental footprint, including waste and energy reduction strategies.
  • Conduct research on fisheries and aquaculture improvements and provide insights to support sustainability goals.
  • Plan and execute a special project agreed upon with your line manager during the internship, applying academic knowledge to real-world challenges.
  • Engage in key business projects to develop leadership skills and broaden understanding of international business operations.
  • Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings, progress, and recommendations for CSR initiatives
