Together, we are building a sustainable future for local news. We are seeking a highly accurate and customer-obsessed People Experience Specialist to join our HR Operations team. This role is responsible for executing critical employee lifecycle transactions in UKG, including job changes, new hires, terminations, and reporting line updates. You’ll be the behind-the-scenes engine ensuring our people data is clean, timely, and aligned to company standards — while delivering white-glove service to our employees and leaders. This is a hybrid role based in our Indianapolis office (WTHR), with an expectation of being on-site 3 days per week.

Requirements

  • 2+ years working in UKG Pro or similar HRIS
  • Strong attention to detail and customer focus
  • Proven ability to manage SLAs and priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ServiceNow a plus

Responsibilities

  • Process job and reporting structure changes, hires, and terminations in UKG
  • Maintain 100% data integrity across HR records
  • Respond to employee/manager inquiries while meeting SLA expectations
  • Improve operational workflows and documentation
  • Collaborate with Payroll, Benefits, HRBPs, and IT
