About The Position

The People & Culture (Human Resources) Generalist plays a key role in supporting our people throughout the employee lifecycle as well as bringing new talent into the organization. From recruiting and onboarding, to payroll and benefits, and employee relations, this role is hands-on, people focused, and an integral part of the People team. Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a generalist role, including supporting the recruitment process
  • Solid understanding of HR practices, payroll, and employment law
  • Experience processing payroll and / or supporting an hourly workforce
  • Proficiency with HR platforms (Bamboo HR, JustWorks, or similar)
  • Experienced and adept at resolving employee relations matters
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality
  • A collaborative and approachable style that reflects the eko values
  • Comfortable taking direction and adapting quickly
  • Experience in a fast-growth or startup environment
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to circulate through the warehouse and have a presence on the floor
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach regularly.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment which may include exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and noise.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with HR Leadership on all HR-related matters, acting as a trusted resource across the company.
  • Support and champion the eko “people first” culture
  • Assist with hourly payroll processing in Justworks, ensuring accuracy in timekeeping, overtime, and deductions.
  • Support the recruitment process: posting roles, sourcing candidates, screening applicants, and coordinating interviews.
  • Manage onboarding and off-boarding procedures to ensure smooth, professional transitions.
  • Administer benefits and leave programs, helping employees navigate their options with clarity and care.
  • Maintain hourly employee records in HRIS and keep data accurate, timely, and compliant.
  • Support performance review cycles and training initiatives.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations issues, escalating as needed to HR leadership.
  • Partner with leaders to implement engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and culture-building activities.
  • Stay current on employment law and compliance requirements.
  • Be involved with special projects and process improvements.
  • Be on call for the specified days worked for complex People issues that arrive during the night shifts.
