About The Position

The People & Culture Generalist is responsible for managing various HR functions at the Blaine facility. This includes overseeing leave programs, supporting payroll, administering performance management, managing employee relations, and ensuring compliance with HR policies. The role also involves improving onboarding experiences, conducting new hire check-ins, and supporting HR initiatives. The position requires a proactive approach to employee engagement and communication within the organization.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma or Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 3+ years' experience in an HR generalist role
  • UKG experience preferred or HRIS systems
  • Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills
  • SHRM-CP or working towards certification

Responsibilities

  • Manage leave programs ensuring compliance to federal and state programs
  • Support payroll function for the Blaine facility
  • Support the company's performance management program and administer the performance management interface
  • Manage employee relations, legal and HR investigation and programs (with support of the P&C Manager)
  • Provide guidance to leaders on managing employee behavior, conflict, and other HR processes/programs to ensure compliance
  • Manage employment life cycle and associated HR documentation and process
  • Responsible for policy administration and ensuring compliance
  • Deliver and look for opportunities to improve the onboarding program to ensure an effective, modern, and engaging experience for all new hires
  • Conduct 60 and 90-day new hire check ins with all team members and coach managers on any feedback to improve new hire experience
  • Create tools for the business to ensure consistency, compliance, and understanding of HR Processes, policies, and protocols
  • Support with termination processes by coordinating offboarding items between team member and internal stakeholders
  • Own HR metrics: gather data from plant and populate HR function scorecards
  • Support the HR team with the execution of various ongoing programs and initiatives, including but not limited to performance reviews, engagement activities, benefit roll outs, communication strategy, and supervisory training
  • Responsible for updating HR tools on a regular basis - organizational charts, systems, monthly submissions etc.
  • Participate in Company Health and Safety and Engagement team
  • Responsible for creating and facilitating internal communications and announcements
