About The Position

At Food Bank of the Rockies, our people make our mission possible, and we’re looking for a People & Culture Business Partner who works hands-on alongside leaders and employees, providing thoughtful consultation on complex people matters while directly supporting core People & Culture processes with care, consistency, and sound judgment. The People & Culture Business Partner (P&C BP) serves as a trusted advisor and day‑to‑day partner to leaders, supporting employee relations, performance management, and workplace challenges across the organization. The role combines consultative partnership with direct involvement in employee relations cases, leave and accommodation processes, and other essential People & Culture functions that shape the employee experience. Requirements

  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience with a strong focus on employee relations and leader partnership
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high‑risk, or sensitive employee relations cases independently
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Comfort operating in both hands‑on administration and strategic consultation
  • Excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and high discretion
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 25% within the service area

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in nonprofit or mission‑driven organizations preferred
  • ADP Workforce Now experience and HR certification (PHR, SHRM‑CP) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary People & Culture partner for leaders, providing day‑to-day consultation on employee relations, performance management, and team dynamics
  • Lead complex employee relations matters from intake through resolution, including investigations, corrective action, and conflict resolution
  • Coach leaders through sensitive conversations with professionalism, consistency, and sound judgment
  • Conduct root‑cause analysis to identify patterns and recommend sustainable people solutions
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and internal policies
  • Administer ADP‑managed leave of absence programs (FMLA, LOA, state‑mandated leaves), ensuring accurate, timely, and employee‑centered processes
  • Manage the ADA interactive process and workplace accommodations
  • Oversee Workers’ Compensation and unemployment claims, ensuring organized, compliant case management
  • Interpret and apply People & Culture policies clearly and fairly for employees and leaders
  • Partner with the P&C team on policy updates and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Use people data, exit feedback, and trends to inform leadership insights and organizational decisions
  • Champion the Employee Promise and reinforce practices that support engagement, trust, and retention
  • Balance employee advocacy with organizational alignment and business needs
