About The Position

The People and Performance Coach is responsible for leading a culture where safety, quality and productivity is top priority. This position is responsible for optimal performance and output in the Conversion Department by effectively leading and motivating team members to meet the needs of all customers and ensuring that all team members are well trained on processes, changes, equipment upgrades and performance metrics while providing support and ideas to achieve KPI goals.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma with some college course work is desirable
  • 3-5 years’ experience in leadership, preferably manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in relevant computer applications such as MS Work and Excel
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Able to move and lift to 50 lbs.
  • Able to reach and bend

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the health, safety and well-being of all team members, products, and equipment
  • Responsible for day-to-day ownership and accountability of all expectations, 6S compliance, and all other internal directives to maintain a positive safe work culture
  • Engages with team members daily to build trust; leads by example and serves as a role model
  • Ensures that all team members are trained and follows the appropriate SOPs
  • Ensures the quality of product produced while working directly with quality, other people and performance coaches, team members, customer service and sales. Investigates and reports on issues relative to corrective action
  • Understands and provides clear production goals (KPI’s) to all members
  • Oversees hiring, training, safety, corrective action, housekeeping, to ensure a positive work culture and high performing teams
  • Identifies opportunities and gaps by troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Extracts ideas (Kaizen) and makes improvements
  • Controls cost by the efficient utilization and optimization of people, processes, and equipment
  • Demonstrates proficiency in PMA and Dynamics AX software
  • Takes ownership for the review and approval of all manufactured material thru proofs and samples
  • Builds teamwork and morale with strong employee relations
  • Directs maintenance staff for proper machine PM
  • Ensures the department complies with all state and federal OSHA and EPA requirements and conducts mandated training programs
  • Monitors quality and make decisions that meet customer expectations
  • Coordinates all unexpected situations that may arise
  • Works with outside vendors as needed
  • Travels to customer sites to resolve quality issues when needed
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by production manager
  • Supports any efforts to maintain high-quality standards as defined by BRC and other plant-wide initiatives to help the parent-company, local company and the department
