About The Position

Markham is looking for a junior or senior student with a passion for people, culture, and the events industry to join our People & Culture team this semester! This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world People and Culture experience across recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and employee engagement — all within a fast-paced creative events environment. You’ll collaborate directly with the VP of People & Culture to support programs that help grow, develop, and connect our incredible team members.

Requirements

  • Junior or senior pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Interest in the events, production, or creative industries and how People and Culture supports dynamic project teams.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • A creative and outgoing personality — someone who enjoys connecting with people and building community.
  • Comfortable handling confidential information and managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace or similar collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruiting and onboarding, including job postings, interview coordination, and candidate communications.
  • Support training and development programs — help organize sessions, track participation, and capture feedback.
  • Contribute to employee engagement and recognition efforts across Markham’s events and project teams.
  • Provide administrative and project support for performance management and documentation.
  • Bring creative ideas and energy to enhance team connection and culture initiatives.
  • Gain exposure to HR technology systems, including HRIS and ATS platforms, supporting data accuracy and process improvement.
