About The Position

The People and Culture Human Resources Manager at Colonial Williamsburg Resort is responsible for overseeing employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, and compliance with employment laws. This role aims to foster a positive work environment and support the organization's mission by ensuring effective communication and engagement among employees. The manager will lead initiatives related to diversity and inclusion, training, and development while providing guidance on HR processes and policies.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of previous Human Resources/People & Culture Management experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks appropriately.
  • Integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
  • Ability to learn HRIS and talent management systems quickly.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous People & Culture/Human Resources experience in a hotel setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to employees in areas such as employee relations, conflict resolution, and FMLA/ADA guidance.
  • Coach supervisors and managers on performance standards and documentation.
  • Lead and guide other People & Culture employees in employee and labor relations functions.
  • Review and approve associate terminations and ensure accurate documentation of investigations.
  • Partner with colleagues to administer People & Culture processes including talent acquisition and performance management.
  • Represent Colonial Williamsburg in regulatory hearings and prepare documentation for arbitration and EEOC hearings.
  • Maintain a regular presence in designated client groups and participate in staff and department meetings.
  • Support the employee communication program to enhance transparency and engagement.
  • Facilitate training needs assessment and implement training programs and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with State and Federal laws related to People & Culture.
