Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in related field; MST, MAcc or JD/LLM preferred.
  • 5+ years relevant experience in expatriate tax.
  • US Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or active state bar membership.
  • An understanding of automated tax-processing systems and tax laws.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical approach to tax with ability to convert complex data into strategic insights.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic tax planning recommendations to clients.
  • Engage in complex compliance and advisory work.
  • Complete tax returns, review/sign off, write correspondence, and provide authoritative advice/guidance.
  • Review tax cost estimates and directly engage clients.
  • Deliver Mobility (Expatriate) Tax projects with technical excellence.
  • Prepare/review US tax returns and overseas tax filings.
  • Generate revenue through identifying follow-on engagement opportunities.
  • Lead workstreams from planning to implementation, managing resources and budgets effectively.
  • Develop understanding of expatriate tax issues and maintain professional reputation.
  • Manage, coach, and develop junior resources and peers.

  • Base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California is $132,000 to $229,100.
