About The Position

Actuaries Unlimited (AUI), a Strongpoint Partner, is seeking a mid-level Pension Administrator. The Pension Administrator is responsible for overseeing a caseload of clients, including managing annual workflow/administrative deadlines, compliance testing, contribution calculations, government reporting, and responding to day-to-day client inquiries. This position will perform all levels of compliance testing and government reporting, and provide guidance to clients on plan design, contribution structure, and evolving legislative requirements. This is a great opportunity for a motivated candidate who wants to further their knowledge of qualified plan design, compliance and administration, and support all sides of a growing financial services firm. This individual must have strong project management skills, a high level of comfort with technology, and the personality to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment by being adaptable, creative, proactive, and eager to grow in this position as it evolves with the growth of the company.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of retirement plan administration experience.
  • Knowledge of ADP/ACP testing, 415, 410(b), Top Heavy and 401(a)(4) non-discrimination testing.
  • Experience with FT Williams and Relius benefits software (or similar).
  • Highly organized and extremely detail-oriented.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Organized individual and able to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional approach to client service focusing on communications, timely solutions and client needs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills internally and externally.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong math and/or accounting skills.
  • Team player/collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Annual Valuation packages for all assigned plans, including the Annual Valuation Report, Letters for Valuation package, and IRS Form 5500 and related schedules.
  • Plan design for existing and potential new clients.
  • Perform, review and correct annual non-discrimination testing for stand-alone DB/Cash Balance Plans and combination DC plans, including 410(b), 401(a)(4), and gateway testing.
  • Review all reports, tax forms, notifications, disclosures, legal documents sent to the client or a government agency.
  • Calculate projections and contribution requirements.
  • Prepare distribution calculations and review distribution forms prepared for terminated employees.
  • Research technical and regulatory issues related to client's plans.
  • Maintain a positive and proactive relationship with clients and contacts, including plan upkeep and advising clients on technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Continue education through webcasts and ASPPA exams.
