About The Position

The Penetration Tester (Engineer, Cybersecurity II) at DLH will play a crucial role in enhancing the cybersecurity posture of Department of Defense (DoD) environments. This position involves generating tools specifically designed for penetration testing, as well as coordinating with Cyber Evaluation Teams to facilitate the procurement of necessary software and hardware. The successful candidate will be responsible for the classified development required to execute test cases for various DoD system cyber events. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the systems are resilient against potential cyber threats and vulnerabilities. In this position, the Penetration Tester will conduct thorough penetration testing on modern Windows and Linux operating systems, as well as IP-based networks. The role will also involve the exploitation and development of malware that targets contemporary operating systems and their defenses. A significant part of the job will include reviewing and examining data and information that supports comprehensive cybersecurity assessments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in penetration testing fundamentals and be able to apply this knowledge effectively in real-world scenarios. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying vulnerabilities and recommending solutions to mitigate risks. The Penetration Tester will work closely with other cybersecurity professionals to ensure that all testing is conducted in accordance with established protocols and standards. This role not only demands technical expertise but also the ability to communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
