Position Summary Performs a variety of technical procedures such as preparing routine solutions and reagents and performing routine reactions. May analyze compounds. Makes and records observations; performs simple calculations; and collects and prepares data for evaluation. Conducts laboratory support functions such as stocking and distributing supplies and equipment; arranging and dismantling apparatus; and collecting, washing, and storing glassware. May use personal computer to perform all technical and record keeping duties in conformance with company and regulatory policies and standards to meet quality and accuracy requirements. May perform technical procedures in one or more of the following areas: Production, Research and Development, Quality Control/Assurance, and/or Compliance/Environmental.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess basic computer proficiency and functional knowledge with applications and activities including (but not limited to):
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to read and write the English language.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to wear proper PPE consistently and in accordance with OSHA and company standards
  • Ability to work with and around chemicals, gases, fumes and dust
  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15).

Responsibilities

  • Sets up laboratory equipment and instrumentation required for tests, research, or process control.
  • Performs tests to ensure that various chemical tanks in the chemical process lines are within customer specifications.
  • Test raw, in-process and finished product to ensure quality standards are met
  • Ability to perform data entry, experience with Microsoft Office i.e.: Word, Excel
  • Adherence to safety, health and environmental policies and procedures
  • Maintain good housekeeping to ensure laboratory cleanliness
  • Document results, analyze data, record keeping
  • Maintains knowledge of / complies with current regulatory requirements
  • Maintain a constant safety environment while striving for zero accidents and complying with OSHA standards.
  • Conduct retesting of product as needed to support quality investigations
  • Understanding preservation of chain of custody
  • Ability to multitask with attention to organization
  • Tracking and reporting of chemical and supply inventories
  • Collect samples from various chemical tanks in the chemical process lines.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation to record all testing activities.
  • Know and follow company, departmental and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to Cadence attendance policy and work as scheduled, which may include evenings, weekends and/or on-call duties as business needs arise.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with team members
  • Other various duties as needed or as assigned.
