About The Position

The Pellet Mill Operator is an hourly position responsible for safely operating all pelleting equipment per standard operating procedures (SOPs), specified feed formulation, and quality procedures. The role requires following the expectations of all Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards, ensuring product quality expectations are met, and maintaining cleanliness in the work area. The operator will work with other Operations colleagues to communicate production issues and participate in meetings to review performance. Once qualified, the operator will also provide mentoring and training to new colleagues.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • Strong fundamental skills (math, reading, writing, and verbal communication).
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment and/or similar military environment (preferred).
  • Ability to act in a professional manner and adhere to ADM's Code of Conduct.
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated with a solid work ethic.
  • Maintain excellent attendance.
  • Strong safety aptitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a military environment.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate all pelleting equipment per SOPs.
  • Follow the production schedule in accordance with feed formulation and quality guidelines.
  • Change and rebuild specified pellet mill dies.
  • Accurate reporting with necessary paperwork.
  • Notify Lead Person of any out-of-spec quality conditions.
  • Participate in morning toolbox, shift exchange/review, and response meetings.
  • Provide mentoring and training to new colleagues once qualified.
  • Complete all listed housekeeping duties per the master sanitation schedule.
  • Attend training classes in-plant or at other locations as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Leadership.
