About The Position

The Shift Leader at Pei Wei Asian Diner plays a crucial role in supporting the management team and ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant. This position involves training and guiding team members, managing guest service, and executing kitchen operations. Shift Leaders are expected to lead in the absence of management and effectively communicate with both team members and management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 6 months of shift lead experience for external candidates.
• 4 months of Pei Wei experience for internal candidates.
• Certified food handler.

• Experience in a restaurant environment.
• Ability to understand and use back-office systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist management in training and guiding team members.
• Perform duties in both front-of-the-house and kitchen operations.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management.
• Act as a role model for team behaviors and guest interactions.
• Lead the team during shifts through coaching and delegation.
• Follow and execute shift responsibilities as outlined in the checklist.
• Support onboarding and training processes for new team members.
• Perform cash handling procedures according to company policies.
• Handle guest relations and coach team on improving guest experiences.
• Attend all store manager meetings.
