About The Position

Join Animal Humane Society as a Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Strategist and help empower communities to make a difference for animals! Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in peer-to-peer or digital fundraising.
  • Experience with online fundraising platforms (e.g. Classy/GoFundMePro, Facebook Fundraisers).
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g. Virtuous, Raiser’s Edge) and campaign analytics tools.
  • Ability to work in a professional and positive manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal, especially in donor-facing interactions.
  • Must have ability to work as a member of the team and partner collaboratively with external and internal customers and departments.
  • Strong project management, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with computers, specifically a working knowledge of Microsoft products.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Must be comfortable with the emotional aspect of work in an animal shelter environment, including the use of humane euthanasia.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive peer-to-peer fundraising strategy focused on growth, engagement, and impact.
  • Manage all peer-to-peer fundraising strategies for AHS’s annual Walk for Animals event.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage existing events, holidays (e.g., National Pet Day), and supporter milestones (e.g., birthdays, pet adoptions) for fundraising.
  • Set campaign goals, track KPIs, and evaluate performance to optimize future efforts.
  • Launch and manage digital campaigns and supporter toolkits for events like birthday fundraisers, memorial pages, walk/run fundraisers, and DIY initiatives.
  • Oversee the setup and optimization of P2P fundraising platforms (e.g. Classy, JustGiving, Facebook Fundraisers).
  • Develop content and messaging that inspires individuals to become fundraisers and ambassadors for animals.
  • Cultivate relationships with supporters who are passionate about animals and want to make a difference through fundraising.
  • Provide guidance, motivation, and recognition to fundraisers throughout their campaigns.
  • Design and manage virtual and in-person opportunities to bring fundraisers together and celebrate their impact.
  • Collaborate with marketing to amplify campaigns via email, social media, and storytelling.
  • Collaborate with corporate relations to identify, secure, and fulfill Walk sponsorships and partnerships.
  • Coordinate with the animal care and adoption teams to showcase impact stories that resonate with fundraisers and donors.
  • Align P2P fundraising initiatives with the broader development and advocacy strategy.
  • Track campaign results and fundraising performance using CRM systems and digital dashboards.
  • Produce regular reports to inform strategy and share successes with internal stakeholders.
  • Continuously test and improve campaign approaches based on insights and supporter feedback.
  • Monitor AHS email and other messaging software.
  • Communicate in a positive and professional manner with customers, other employees, and volunteers.
  • Promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion to make AHS a welcoming environment for all.
  • Other duties as assigned.
