Mountain Community Health Partnership (MCHP) is seeking a full time Peer Support Specialist. The Peer Support Specialist (PSS) will provide individual and group peer support services to patients of MCHP. Individuals serving in this position will play an important role in improving the health of our community. The primary purpose of this role is to engage, support, and build capacity of individuals and communities to improve health outcomes. The PSS will serve as a member of the MCHP clinical care team, bringing to the care experience first-hand knowledge of the communities in which they work, and skills targeted towards meeting community health needs. They will be a voice and a teacher in the community with the ultimate goal of delivering equal care and support for the people they serve. Peer support services emphasize personal safety, self-worth, confidence, growth, community engagement, boundary setting, planning, self-advocacy, personal fulfillment, positive social supports and effective communication. The PSS may be asked to work at multiple MCHP locations based on clinic need.
