Peer Support Specialist Pyramid Healthcare – ACTT Program Location: Jacksonville, NC Schedule: Full-Time Pay Range: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour (based on experience) Position Summary Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and motivated Peer Support Specialist to join our Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) in Jacksonville, NC. This role is ideal for someone who brings lived experience and a strong commitment to recovery-oriented care. The Peer Support Specialist works as part of a multidisciplinary team to support individuals with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders in achieving stability, independence, and long-term recovery. Our ACTT program delivers comprehensive, community-based services designed to meet clients where they are and address mental health, substance use, vocational, housing, and social needs. This position plays a vital role in improving outcomes for individuals most at risk of psychiatric crisis and impacted by social determinants of health.

Requirements

  • North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist (NC CPSS) certification
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

  • Utilize lived experience to provide peer-based support and recovery education to clients
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary treatment team to support individualized treatment goals
  • Assist in developing and supporting treatment plans aligned with mental health and substance use recovery models
  • Maintain ongoing communication with referral sources and community partners
  • Manage and maintain accurate client records, including medical documentation, releases of information (ROIs), person-centered plans (CCPs), and discharge/aftercare planning
  • Participate in daily staffing meetings and rotate responsibility for documenting meeting minutes
  • Provide or coordinate transportation to help clients access community resources and services
  • Design and facilitate weekly social, educational, and recovery-focused groups
  • Assist with emergency services as needed, including crisis planning, after-hours assessments, hospital diversion, and commitment procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support program operations and client care
