Peer Support Specialists will be expected to take the lead on engagement and may also conduct non-clinical assistance by providing support to consumers after the initial crisis has been resolved. Peer Specialists will be required to demonstrate competency in providing peer-to-peer support prior to rendering services independently. The 988 Program provides 24/7 mobile community outreach services to adults in crisis, including mental health, substance use, and suicidal emergencies. Staff dispatch to crises in teams of two, with a Crisis Response Specialist and a Peer Support Specialist, to provide assessment, risk assessment, safety planning, linkage to services, and follow-up care. The Program aims to provide crisis de-escalation without use of law enforcement unless necessary for consumer or team safety. Hours: Full time; various shifts. There is a $1.00 shift differential for 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
