About The Position

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and motivated Peer Support Specialist to join our Franklin Outpatient Program in Franklin, NC. This role is integral in helping individuals initiate, engage in, and sustain long-term recovery by leveraging lived experience, community resources, and supportive relationships throughout the treatment continuum. 🌱 Position Summary The Peer Support Specialist assists individuals in building meaningful connections to community-based supports that promote recovery and wellness. This position provides peer-based services before, during, and after treatment engagement and works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary clinical team to support positive outcomes.

Requirements

  • Peer Support Specialist Certification (NC) required
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and respond appropriately in crisis situations
  • Effective problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and regulatory compliance standards
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in a Human Services–related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide peer-based support grounded in lived recovery experience
  • Collaborate as a valued member of a multidisciplinary treatment team
  • Assist individuals in developing and strengthening long-term recovery supports
  • Maintain regular contact with referral sources, as directed
  • Prepare and conduct concurrent reviews with referral sources under supervisor guidance
  • Complete all medical record documentation accurately and in a timely manner
  • Document all client interactions and collateral contacts in accordance with policy
  • Participate in peer record reviews and quality improvement processes
  • Maintain productive, professional relationships with all disciplines
  • Keep supervisor informed of client progress, barriers, and emerging needs
  • Provide transportation for clients to access community resources, as needed
  • Participate in emergency services rotation, which may include crisis planning, after-hours assessments, commitment procedures, and hospital diversion
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support program operations
