About The Position

A Peer Support Specialist provides support and guidance to individuals who are undergoing certain challenges or transitions. They help individuals develop their skills and confidence and assist them in making a successful transition from incarceration to community living.

Requirements

A high school diploma, or equivalent.
Certified as a Colorado Peer and Family Specialist (CPFS), National Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (NCPRSS), or Qualified Behavioral Health Assistant (QBHA).

Responsibilities

Provides one-on-one mentoring to people in a community correction setting.
Assists clients in obtaining services to help them make a successful transition from incarceration to community living.
Promotes recovery, wellness, and healthy lifestyle behaviors.
Provides program orientation for all new clients.
Arrangesa nd supervisesappropriate leisureactivities for clients.
Develops and facilitates skills-based peer support groups.
Assists with crisis intervention.
Provides mentoring, crisis management, and addiction recovery support.
Servesas an advocate for clients experiencing programmatic or behavioral struggles.
Supports clients as they work through social or emotional barriers to stay motivated to reach their goals.
Accompanies clients to court, and other appointments for support and advocacy as well as sober support groups.
Assists clients with self-determined goal setting.
Maintains appropriateand professional boundaries with clients.
Accurately documentsall activitiesasrequired.
Develops and maintainsa resource directory for use by clients.
Assistin arranging and providing transportation for community appointments and services.
Reports safety concerns to the appropriate staff.
Participatesin multidisciplinary team meetings.
Frequently travels within El Paso County and Colorado State as needed to meet with clients and provide client opportunities.
Promotes and demonstrates the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Embrave.
Develops and maintains good working relationships with all departments, the management team, regulatory agencies, and community partners.

Responsible for the human, financial, and material resources as well as the data and information entrusted to us.
Performs other duties as assigned.
